Hi, I’m Bernhard.

I’m Head of Development at MMCAGENTUR in Vienna. Outside work, I’m a dad of two, a sim racer, and usually working on some piece of software I wanted for myself. A few of those projects have turned out useful to other people, too.

Building for the web for over twenty years. I started out self-employed as KOLORARTISTS while finishing HTL Wiener Neustadt, did TYPO3 and .NET at Janin IT from 2011, then six years of TYPO3 at contemas. Since 2020 I’ve been at MMCAGENTUR, where I now lead development. Off the clock I tinker with anything that has firmware or a build step.

OpenSimwheel
OpenSimwheel began as custom firmware and a build guide for direct-drive wheels on off-the-shelf Granite Devices Argon servo drives. I wrote it for my own rig and shared it so other racers could build one too. The DIY scene around it got big enough that Granite Devices started building Simucube for it. Here’s Martin Ascher testing the beta in 2014.
